Value for Money

I bought this during the black friday sale, I just needed something to store some small tools that i use for DIY around the house and for that use, it is great, especially for the price. However, if you are looking for something that can be used on a daily basis for your full time job then look elsewhere, as this will not last. This case was clearly not made for that purpose and as a result the price reflects this. Everyone leaving bad reviews saying it feels cheap need a reality check. You get what you pay for. THE TOOLBOX IS GREAT FOR LIGHT DIY USE. NOT FOR COMMERCIAL USE!
Horrible

Hate this box. Looked good and sturdy at the time but is cheap and has awful build quality. The lid on mine doesn't close properly so you have to bash it each time, however the box gets it own back by scratching (and once cutting) your hand on the metal clip. It was cheap so I shouldn't expect much but this, for me, was false economy.
Great price, robust and perfect as laptop case

If you are looking for a waterproof all-weather - go anywhere laptop case - most people would go for a pelicase or similar that cost hundreds for the size I wanted.
The Patrol toolbox was the perfect size front to back to have a laptop sit in it as a makeshift desk, with room underneath (a plywood shelf that I put in myself) for power cables, and other electrical items/connectors/card readers/UPC batteries etc.
When it rained I simply closed the lid, and in the sun, the lid itself made a good sunshade. excellently portable - mud, rain, and even proven to be sheep-proof.
Very pleased with it as a go-anywhere rugged outdoors laptop desk. Not what it was designed for - but proves the solidity of design.
Excellent value that can't be matched for this purpose.
(my fitted custom shelf does mean you can't use the inside carry tray though :-( )
Feeble hinges

This looked good, but a waste of money. The generous size is a good idea, giving plenty of options. The supported lid is a good idea, giving extra accessible tray space. The smaller moveable handled tray is a good idea, giving useful adaptability. But, regrettably, the plastic hinges are feeble and snapped after not many openings and closings, rendering the entire box unportable, unusable and unlikeable.
Decent Size and Practical

Decent size, upper storage compartments came very handy. Easy to pull out from the car due to the side lip which allows fingers to grip the box and take it out from the boot. Hinges needs to be a better design as this was the first thing to break. Great size, practical just needs to be made more tougher and durable.
