just fitted 5 of these bulbs, flicked the switch and was delighted to see they lit up the area far better than the halogen bulbs they replaced.I expect I'll recoup the expense over time too, due to the much lower energy use.WIN,WIN? Time will tell, hence mid rating on quality and value.
Philips LED lamps

I previously reviewed the lower wattage version of this lamp, which is suited for most areas within a house, but these lamps were specifically purchased for a high ceiling area, and where more light was needed. Philips make really nice quality lamps, and in my opinion, they are often better value longer term than lesser known brands. I bought these with the 4000K Natural White colour temperature, which is really nice for gloomy days, and great for house plants, as closely simulates sunlight. A good purchase and great price. These will pay for themselves within a year due to the energy savings over dicroic, tungsten and even compact fluorescent equivalents.

I have been using these for the last two months now and my thoughts are; 'why didn't I get them earlier' their light is brilliant, white and surprisingly clear. They are a worth investment.

I bought this product to replace a halogen version and am delighted. No more excess heat, all light no wasted energy.
