Ideal for wood made of metal

The description says it comes with a rubber strap but it doesn't. When I questioned a staff member about it he just asked if it says on the packaging that there should be one. It doesn't. So even though there are places for a rubber strap to be attached there isn't a rubber strap included.
Also, when I tried this against a door post both ways round to see how accurate it is, both readings were different....
