I thought these taps were exactly what look I was attempting to get.not too badly priced but if you did not know you would be stuck to fit them because you need an allen key for the inside ,,not provided or even the mention of what is needed to fit this tap.

Do not buy this product! - they can leak profusely from the tap screw after about six months. I have four of these valves attached to towel rails and three have already failed in the same way. They look good and appear to be good quality but they aren't!!They are easy to install and initially they work very well. The issue is that after six months or so the internal sealing rings either harden or wear and when the control is turned only a little they start to leak out of the spindle. Once they start it is impossible to stop the drip-drip. I have yet to locate spare sealing rings as the standard B&Q rings are too big. There are 4 sealing rings used per tap - 1x20mm, 1x15mm and 2x10mm (see picture). The two 10mm sealing rings can be replaced simply by removing the hexagonal retaining nut around the control spindle and remove the spindle by rotating it. This can be done without draining the system down providing the main 15mm seal is only leaking a bit. However to change the 15mm ring it is necessary to drain the system down and take the valve out and separating the tap barrel. It requires *all three 1x20 and 2x15* rings to fail for the leak to occur. As all three rings have repeatedly failed it looks as though there is a manuafacturing defect with these controls; either inferior sealing material has been used; there is inadequate lubrication or the internal barrel that the seals slide in/out are not machined smoothly enough (causing wear). My central heating system is fully flushed out and scrupulously clean with no swarf. This looks like quality has been sacrificed where it matters most - ie. keeping the water inside the system. I'm contacting B&Q to see if I can get new rings but I think it is likely that I will have to replace all four valves with a better quality product. You would expect them the last for years (as they are little used) and it is costly to drain the system down. AVOID and buy quality elsewhere.
