Does not do what it says on the tin.

Do not follow the instructions on the tin which says apply vertically using a fine bristle brush. It is so thick that if applied with a bristle brush you get deep brush marks and flow marks so an uneven, bobbly, textured surface results on melamine (It was OK on the wood trims but would have needed another coat). You cannot go over with more paint to even it out as it 'sets' almost immediately and does not behave like an oil based gloss which normally evens itself out as it dries. It does not behave anything like most paints you have ever used before. Your only chance, maybe, is to experiment on a similar surface first and apply as thinly as possible using a gloss foam roller and use two, probably three coats. It is not 'one coat paint' whatever method you use to apply it. I tried painting one small cupbard panel and because of the marks and uneven textured finish waited till it dried and then stripped it off, used a universal primer and started again with a different paint on a new primed surface as I was up against a time deadline on a renovation project. So I now have a full can of left over Ronseal paint which I would return if I could. I have painted different surfaces with different paints for over 40 years : I have renovated lots houses and rooms and I wish I had read the other reviews before I bought this stuff and that Ronseal had given proper advice on application.
excellent results

Bought this paint to recoat cream coloured melamine finished bathroom furniture doors and draw fronts. Removed handles from doors and draw fronts, then laid them flat and gave them a light sanding with fine grit paper. Applied paint quite liberally without over brushing. I then used a mini roller (type for oil based paint, not emulsion) before the paint could dry, on each door to remove any brush marks, and to ensure paint was evenly distributed. Did not find this paint overly thick as other users have stated. Am very pleased with the end results and would certainly use this product again
Good Product

Was puzzled to read negative reviews on this product. We used it to paint Cornices, shelves and cabinet interiors prior to fitting new High Gloss White Cabinet doors and drawer fronts. The paint was high gloss and perfectly matched the new panels. We were very impressed with the colour match and finish.
Its a good, thick paint and requires constant stirring to stop it from going too difficult to handle, and deserves the best type of brush to apply it smoothly.
Rubbish Ronseal

This paint is absolute rubbish. It is the worst paint I have ever used, avoid it like the plague. No way is it one coat. I was trying to cover a very, very pale pink cupboard and it has taken 4 coats, which equates to the whole tin. Ideally it could do with another coat, but there is no way I'm going to spend another £22 for this rubbish. Ronseal should be ashamed producing rubbish like this and B&Q should know better than selling this terrible product. I would have taken the tin back for a refund if I thought I would get one.
The paint is so thick it is impossible to paint it, out the brush just drags the paint rather than spreading it smoothly, so the finish is really really patchy. It is like painting with treacle. Anyone thinking of painting their kitchen cupboards with this paint to refresh them I would think again. You would be very sorry you started if you use this rubbish paint. And before anyone thinks I didn't prepare my cupboard prior to painting would be wrong. I followed the instructions on the tin to the letter.
This is the worst product I have ever bought.
Excellent product

Just painted kitchen doors and draw fronts very pleased with the result. For best results take doors off and lay flat, one coat covered the cream colour. Touch dry in a few hours.
