This antique pine interior varnish from the Ronseal Interior diamond hard range can be applied to interior using a brush. The varnish dries in just 20 minutes and will cover up to 24 m² per litre on average.
- Gives great protection against knocks, scuffs and scratches
- Surface Preparation - Ensure the room is warm and ventilated. To prepare the wood for varnishing, give the surface a wipe down with a cloth and white spirit to remove wax, grease, dirt and oil. Use 120 grit sandpaper to give the surface a quick sand and smooth out any rough patches. If the wood has an old coating on it, sand away the peeling, loose and flaking bits so the surface is even. Let the dust settle and wipe it away with a damp cloth. Leave the wood to dry thoroughly before varnishing.
- Instructions for Use - Give your varnish a stir, and test the colour on a hidden patch to make sure you’re happy with it. It may darken your wood slightly but it should bring out its natural colour. If you’re happy with how it looks, apply an even layer of the varnish painting in the direction of the woodgrain. Wait one hour for the coat to dry. You will need two to three coats for complete coverage and protection. Before you apply your final coat (whether that’s the second or third), sand down the surface and wipe the dust off with a cloth. This will help your final coat stick smoothly and will give you a perfect finish.

Does What It Says On The Tin !!

To seal diamond hard wood varnish( antique pine)
Brilliant product , the quality of varnish was good once applied too timber the finish was excellent, the cleaning of brushes was good with clean warm water.

Great Coloured varnish
I bought this to cover up some scratces and marks on a pine table which had not completely gone away after sanding. The Ronseal Diamond was just the job. The fact that it is water soluble and still covered up the marksmade the job much easier

Good varnish ..... poor quality lid on tin
For the second time I have found that Ronseal Interior Diamond Hard Antique Pine Satin finish is supplied in a decent tin but with a very soft metal lid. After opening twice , the lid is now unusable and I have had to contact Ronseal for a solution. They are sending me a plastic container but gave no comment on the lid quality. The varnish however does what it says on the tin .... not the lid.

What ever happened to good old varnish?
This product is the worst I have ever purchased. It is watery(I know it's water based), foams up, needs multiple coats and nowhere near the old colour that we had before.

That satin finish was dull compared to other stain
Easy to use. Covered the different types of wood used in my door and frame evenly. However I was disappointed with the dull sheen! It looks like it needs a good polish! The satin sheen provided by traditional stain is much better
