I had bought a cheaper version of this paint but it was terrible, very watery and poor coverage. Ronseal was more expensive but gave excellent coverage and only needed one coat. Would definitely recommend it!

NOT good over the long term

This paint is complete rubbish and a costly mistake. I started using it on my doorstep about 4 years ago, little did I know it would need to be properly repainted on a yearly basis and touched up at 6 month intervals. I am a competent DIYer and am using it properly. I’m now fed up with regularly spending circa £15 a tin (on the 750ml) to keep the doorstep looking decent. It states “diamond hard” on the tin – utter drivel! Easily scratched off in time with shoe traffic, especially I suppose, if they have grit in their heels. Winter months are worse. The part of the doorstep which is under cover isn’t so bad, but the other half which is exposed to the rain, just can’t cut it. It bubbles up and removes itself from the paving in no time. It looks nice when it’s first done, but hold on to that image because it won’t last. I need to find an alternative brand. “Does what it says on the tin” Twaddle!
