It doesn't say opaque on the tin.

I have bought Ronseal Fence Life before and it covered well and protected the fence, so I decided to buy the same again. I have to take some responsibility for thinking this was the same stuff. It isn't. It is very thin and is really for use with a spray gun and is not suitable for use with a brush to paint over another colour. I applied one coat with a brush and it barely made a difference. I doubt it would cover over the brown fence with even three coats. Why does it not say opaque on the tin when B and Q say it is opaque. If you want to paint over another colour on your fence or shed, then this is not the stuff.
Awful product waste of time and money

Shockingly bad and not the right colour

After doing some research on what colour i want, i stumbled across the charcoal grey which i found to be a really nice colour and it help to stand out the natural colours of you plants and flowers.
However, after looking at the shed colour on the tub, i thought YES, thats the one i want, CHARCOAL GREY, upon opening the tub and stirring the contents, it remained to be a very light grey and not even close the the darker grey i was looking at on the tub.
I dont know if theyve filled the tub with another colour by accident or theyre taking the mick by trying to pass that off as charcoal grey.
Im a fully qualified Painter and Decorator by trade, i know a lot about paints and colours etc and this is actually like water, i put a coating on the fence that i took from the tub lid and it was so light that after 5 minutes it looked like id not even touched the fence or it had been splashed with a tiny bit of muddy water.
I will be taking it back and getting a full refund.
I wouldnt waste your time buying this product, despite the good reviews, take it from a professional, this is a terrible product for the price, it will need at least 5 coats and even then it will look very patchy, you will end up spending more money to buy another huge tub to fix up the fencing so it does not look patchy, id spend your money wisely and find a different brand, its worth spending the little bit extra for a quality product, dont waste your hard earned money on this rubbish!
Please look at my two photos for confirmation.
Brilliant bought my old fence panels to life

My fence panels are about 35 years old and had remnants of green and brown old paint as well as faded parts. Yes it is quite thin but needs to be to go through a sprayer. We did 2 coats sprayed on using Ronseal fence sprayer and brushed it over as we went. The result is stunning. My fence looks like new and love the colour. I'm hoping that it will last the 5 years as promised, time will tell.
recommended to show off your plants to their best.

pleased with result, gives a contemporary finish to my garden and plants are really shown off up against it, even plain old green foliage looks more stunning. You do need a couple of coats though, so be prepared and buy in bulk to save yourself some money.
