I used two tins of this product from Ronseal after recent building works.
Used on pine newel posts, skirting and architrave. Followed all instructions with two to three coats then used dulux water based satin finish.
Three months later all knots showing through!
I could scream all the effort and time spent, and now it all needs rubbing back and redone.
Contacted ronseal who offered to supply another tin but Refused any compensation as they said it was a DIY product.
find it easy to paint with this product

I like the quality of this product, it is easy to use and leaves a nice finish. Used on knotty pine wood and I used 3 coats. I will be going back this week to purchase a large tin to do the rest of my door surrounds and base boards.
Simply does not work

I applied this as per the instructions and initially the knots weren't visible. After a few months the knots started bleeding through the top coat and a year on the woodwork looks dreadful. This product seems to work no better than standard primer - but costs a lot more. I contacted Ronseal but they were not intersted in knowing that their product does not work. I'm now left with days of work to sort out the mess. My advice is stick to the old trusted Shellac Knotting Solution

I have used another make for years (shaggy dog) but tried their filler and now their paint and they can rightly say "It does what it says on the tin".
The coverage is fantastic. two thin coats ( i used a HVLP sprayer) gave a fantastic result that my wife thought was the top coat!

Very useful as it blocks knots as well as priming and undercoating. It is also water soluble so cleaning is easier and it can be over-painted with acrylic paint.
