Ronseal may be more expensive, but it works out cheaper. Last time I used 4 tins of another brand £5 a tin cheaper. Only used 2 tins of Ronseal for the same job. a saving of £40. Only 4 stars as I dont know how long it will last

Good value for money, good coverage, strong red brown stain. Used on wooden church windows with ronseal wood hardner and filler. Very pleased with result.

the requirement to have 3 coats is the biggest drawback - whilst only time will tell if the stain does last 5 years. Agreed the finish after 3 coats looks really good I would much prefer a product that needs the maximum of 2 coats to give the desired protection and finish

I used this woodstain some 10 years ago on my facia boards & it is now only starting to peel. Quick rub down & reapplied this woodstain. Facia boards now look great, woodstain really easy to apply & quick drying. Not the cheapest but would highly recommend it.
