I am a keen amateur DIYer and have bought numerous different filling products.

This is the best by far.

The two-part formula allows you to adjust how quickly you want this to set, but the key is it absolutely will set in 30 mins or less - the premixed alternatives might be soft for hours on end. Speedy setting means you can get on with the job in hand.

It definitely is expensive but lasts well and is worth the money

Probably not for large areas

I bought this as I was told it would be the best stuff to use for filling the edges of my new MDF units prior to painting - the idea being that I'd get nice smooth edges rather than rough looking ones. That was clearly bad advice.
Now, I may not have been using it properly, after all I'm not a professional carpenter, but I really didn't get on with this product, in fact I'd go as far as to it say I hated it.
For one thing, no matter how much hardener I added (in fact even if I din't add any at all) once out of the pot it only stayed reasonably soft for about 5 minutes, after which time it started caking up, making it impossible to spread. So I could only use small amounts at any one time, making the job much longer.
Secondly, the claim that it can be sanded after 30 minutes is simply not true. I found that even several hours later, the layer of filler I had created still yielded to the touch and if sanded just stuck to the sandpaper and came off in bits.
Finally, the smell of the stuff is simply overpowering, like the worst solvent smell you can imagine. Windows open, extractor fans on, the house is still saturated with it 24 hours later and god knows what damage the chemicals I inhaled have done to my system.
I should also add that the size of the pot is really misleading, it's only about 2 thirds full.
I suspect this product might work fine for small repair jobs, like tiny cracks, gaps or broken corners. For anything larger I can't recommend it, I'll just go back to the cartridge stuff that is nice and soft when it comes out, is easy to spread and actually hardens much better.

You really can use this filler then sand screw or paint it in half an hour which speeds the job up. It also sands easily. The instructions say add a pea sized blob of hardener to a golf ball sized blob of filler which is a bit vague. I found that using anything like that amount of hardener results in it going off in only a few minutes resulting in waste, so recommend using less than half that amount.

Needs a new lid

Bought this product and when I went to use it the hardener was missing. I therefore have a can of nothing which was quite expensive. As I have been unable to get back to b&q I just have to bite the bullet and accept I have wasted my money. The container was quite pretty the only reason I have credited any stars is because I cannot give a review without them

Good stuff

Best product I've used and I've used it many times - old house - lots of rotting windows. Not the cheapest but by far the best, worth the extra cash.
