What happened to the cable??
Bob7 - 25 days ago
I owned a Rotak 36 before buying this new Universal Rotak 650 - hoping the latest model would be a big improvement.
There are some good features - easier height adjustment - twin controls allowing you to change hands if needed without losing power. Grass box is now half material but 50litre box worked ok.
The new machine does have a more plastic feel and the handle setting felt a little less sturdy than my old machine. Grass cutting was fine.
The biggest issue for me is a much reduced electric cable - this is a CORDED mower - why reduce the cable by a good 4 meters from my old machine - meaning I had to constantly move my extension cable. My lawn approx 150 sqm and about 12 meters long - really disappointed with this changed feature.
Low setting isn't!

I bought this at the end of last season. It is easy to use and the big basket is quite good. My only issue is that the lowest cut setting does not seem particularly low and would seem to negate the stripes you should get with the roller.
Where do I get a new blade?

Ours is five weeks old and it has proved to be a reasonable lawnmower but is noisy and cumbersome. We have been searching for a spare cutting blade and have failed to find one- this is ludicrous considering the price of the mower. If anyone can point us in the direction of a blade we would be thankful.

I read a numbet of highly positive reviews and so was expecting great things moving from a flymo to bosch. Sadly the flymo was better!!! The Rotak is a beast and an embarrassingly noisy one. The grass box is poor. The cuttings shoot out the gaps in the side between the chassis and grassbox and fill indicator is pointless. Its heavy to turn and manoeuvre. The only thing i like is the cutting height adjustment.
Not the Bosch Quality of Old

Quite disappointed as I assembled my purchase. The Accountants seem to have taken over at Bosch. I've been a fan of Bosch garden products for many years and I purchased this mower to replace my Rotak 40 - which has given many years of faithful service. Too many parts on this latest model seem quite flimsy, are made of cheap materials and don't fit together particularly well (e.g. the grass collection box). The power cable is ridiculously short for a mower designed to cut lawns up to 650 m2. I'll see how it goes but this might be might be my last purchase of a Bosch lawnmower.
