The spring load is poor and it does not grip at all. Total waste of money.

makes the job of removing and refitting taps very easy. However its no good for those small basin sink taps you find in rooms like single toilets ie downstairs toilet sinks or ensuites as the space is very limited. But excellent for bathroom and kitchen sink basins

Maybe it's just me being slow but I thought I'd mention this tip for anyone else purchasing this product. The gripper on the end can be flipped over into 2 positions. At first I thought this was just for ease of access into tight spaces. However after a few unsuccessful attempts to tighten a tap nut, I realized that flipping it one way is for tightening (clockwise) and flipping it the other way is for loosening (anticlockwise). When I figured that out, it worked a treat :).
Quality super-sturdy tool

I bought this after realising that trying to replace a bath mixer tap with normal spanners and wrenches was going to be exceedingly difficult. It made the job very very easy, allowing me to remove easily both the plastic nuts holding the mixer unit to the bath and the brass nuts connecting the water pipes to the mixer. It was almost too easy!
The gripper end had no problems locking onto the nuts and did not slip off. I found it easiest to position the gripper round the nut by feel, using one hand, while kneeling upright since I couldn't easily look under the bath while positioning the gripper correctly. I used my other hand to hold onto the handle at the other end and to twist it once the gripper was in position in order to lock the gripper around the nut. I could then use both hands to apply the necessary torque to loosen or tighten as required.
The adjustable-length telescopic shank was an absolute necessity since the waste pipe and overflow unit frequently got in the way.

This tool allowed me to change my washbasin taps in no time at all. The extendable handle is well worth having and means that you can tighten or loosen the nuts under the basin away fron the very restriced area directly under the basin.
