Great battery for Ryobi power tools

The battery was ordered to replace a damaged old battery pack. The charge time was approximately the same as my 4.0 A/h battery, and on first use seems to deliver quite strong current, making short work of tidying the garden with a strimmer. The Battery is fully compatible with the One+ Ryobi range, and it stays as cool as the original battery it replaces. If the battery lasts as long as the previous battery pack, then there is little to concern me over the degradation over time, the original battery still works well, but a crack in the casing has made the battery unsafe to continue using, hence the replacement.

Useful cordless system

I've had Ryobi cordless tools for many years - some of them in dark blue and orange, and still working well. I bought the 5AH battery particularly for use with the hedge cutting and garden blower tools. A useful extension of working time over my other 4AH batteries. Ryobi restricts shipping to Northern Ireland, where I live, and B&Q is one of the few local Ryobi outlets. As usual, the B&Q staff very helpful. With the Ryobi delivery restrictions, some of my recent cordless tool purchases are DeWalt.

Long lasting

Bought as a replacement for batteries that couldn't charge. The new one holds the charge for much longer than our old batteries

"New" battery which is actually 5 years old.

I bought this battery recently. While it turned up promptly, along with the associated drill, they came in two different boxes and the battery pack in a cardboard box 15 x 15 x 6 inches, which was 8 times bigger than it needed to be, additionally the plastic packaging round the battery was filthy. The battery had a batch production date of 2019 and was hence 5 years old, which is reflected no doubt in the state of the packaging. It has been sat on the shelf for 5 years with minimum charge which probably not done it a great deal of good. It took its first charge but the jury is out on whether it will keep its charge moving forward. Perhaps not the sale bargain it purported to be...... Not impressed.
