I had this fitted with my new boiler 9 years ago and I have found it easy to use and so flexible to have all the different times to set at different temperatures throughout the day, and you can choose a different pattern for weekends too. It's just been replaced by a Worcester controller with our new boiler, but only because it was a specification of the extended guarantee. I hope the new one is as easy and effective. I don't understand why anyone finds it difficult to programme, just follow the simple instructions ;)

Very simple

This works well. The 5 settings are not on and off times they are "target times". That is 5 points in the day with a temperature setting for each time. The temp set for each time point is the temp the thermostat/boiler will aim to maintain until the next target time when it will change to whatever that temperture is set for. You can over-ride the set temperature by 1/2 degree steps up or down and that becomes your target temperature until the next time point when it will revert to the temp set for that time point. yo can adjust the temp up or down at any time but the next time/temp point will over-ride any manual adjustmant you have made since the last "auto" time/temp setting. Once you understand HOW it works instead of thinking "old" type thermostats, you will be able to set it correctly. Must admit the instructions could do to be a bit simpler to understand and larger print

Looks simple but isn't

You need to set aside a lot of time to programme this device. There are too few buttons doing many many functions. Resetting it is a nightmare - think over a hundred separate steps. Mine has cost a fortune in wasted gas. It's always switching itself on in the middle of the night. Only buy if you don't mind wasting energy and enjoy the challenge of overcoming needlessly confusing programming . I'm getting rid of mine for something else.

not up to the job

this was installed when we had a new boiler fitted ,Worcester bosch boiler and a cheap thermostat and timer.have problems with it switching on during the night when its programmed to keep a constant temp up to say 10pm yes switches off then in the middle of the night you wake up in a sweat,re programme ok for a few days then back to normal all over the place, take my advice for what its worth spend a bit more and get a better termostat
