Nice but not simple to build.

I bought two of those. Initially they were out of stock for 3 weeks but eventually got delivered 3 days ago.
First thing, the unit arrives flatpacked on a very big and heavy palette. The unit's weight stated in the specs is around 160 kilos but the B&Q delivery men claimed that delivery weight is around 300 kilos per unit! And I had 2 of those delivered. I live in a 2nd floor flat with no lift acccess, while the stairs leading up to the flat and patio are narrow and steep so there was no way, even with 3 people lifting to take it up to 2nd floor in one piece. We had to open the palette at street level and carry all the parts upstairs bit by bit. There are many, many parts! The B&Q delivery men, to their credit were brilliant and helped me carry all the parts upstairs to the flat and patio.
Onto the building part: As the previous reviewer said, the instructions are indeed appalling. I was building those with my friend, both of us fairly experienced with such projects but with some sections of the instructions we had to resort to guesswork. The instructions are very poorly drawn/explained. Also, just as the previous reviewer said, the claimed 4 hrs building time is pure fantasy. Jesus himself wouldn't be able to do it on his own in that time. As we had two to build, the first one took the two of us 12 hours in total over 2 days to finish. The second one, when we knew what we were doing having built the first one, took us only 6 hours. That was when everything was prepped perfectly prior to building. All the pieces and fixings perfectly organised prior to starting the build, so no wasting time looking for the right screws/nuts/pieces etc. Still, 2 people, making no mistakes and working at a decent pace, 6 hours. After that, they have to be painted / weatherproofed as the wood is untreated so another few hours.on top of the build.
Once finished, it's a nice looking storage unit with a sturdy feel to it. Make no mistake though. It is NOT the simplest thing to build.
Good product but appalling assembly instructions
Stevie shed - 1 year ago
I put this together for my daughter because she didn't know where to start. It arrived as a pile of wood, wish i'd taken a photo. The delivery driver had never seen a shed like this before! Forget the 4 hr average construction time. I'm an experienced DIYer with numerous sheds under my belt and this took me 10hours. Looks good now it's assembled but the wood isn't treated so needs a few more hours painting!!!!
