Although this vac works well enough, B&Q does not stock spare parts. The cartridge filter is key to its dust free operation and once that clogs up you're in trouble as replacements do not seem to be available.

Great suction, great sync with other tools

I love this shop vac. It is my first one for my hobby woodwork shop and I had never heard of the sync feature before where the vac starts up when the plugged-in appliance starts. This is a major bonus for me.

The suction is great great great. Until it isn’t. I’m going to give this vac five stars because I still love it and I want you to consider it, even though the reviewer who said it has badly designed choke points on the hose is completely right. The sucking end allows larger pieces to enter the hose than the other end allows to exit it and this is a major flaw. With woodwork I want to be able to suck up large splinter size pieces as well as sawdust. Really, sawdust is the most I can do without constant stops to clear. I constantly have to remove the hose to poke out larger items with a long screwdriver which the great suction allows to be picked up. I feel I have to hoover up the same sawdust three times. Not a bonus!

Using it on board my other tools works well enough mostly. There just seems to be no reason for the narrowing of the connection to the body of the vac - if this was fixed the vac would be perfect.

I feel the hose is a little flimsy too and wonder how long it will be before it splits.

The girl in the aisle told me this is the model the professionals buy and I’ve no reason to doubt her, but I can’t see this being used for site work with the reduced choke point.

I haven’t used the wet feature yet.

Great suction, great sync with other tools, great if you are just doing normal hoovering, terrible for blockages in the hose. I still love my first wee shop vac baby :)

Great for the workshop

I purchased this to vacuum our house site while we built it. Unfortunately it lacks the suction required to pull up typical building site rubble, has a poorly designed hose system in which things constantly get stuck and even struggles to suck up leaves with a larger diameter than the hose opening, instead allowing them to build up on the nozzle and clog the ingress point instead of simply collapsing the leaves and sucking them in. It requires constant clearing of the hose at both the bend near the nozzle and the end where it enters the main body due to poorly engineered choke points. I'm forever unscrewing the hose to shake rubble loose. The regular head fitment doesn't clear uneven flooring properly so after a few uses the plastic underneath started breaking as it scrapes across uneven edges in flooring sheets all the time. This piece has disintegrated entirely after 7 months. In my opinion this product is not worth it's cost. I recommend to anyone that they fork out the extra money on a more expensive brand instead, which is what I ended up doing. I am now able to vacuum the site without having to stop to clear the hose out from blockages all the time and this shopvac is gathering dust in the shed.
