What a disappointment.

I have spent roughly £600 on this shower wall system and within a week, the bottom edges have started to swell because the mdf edges have begun to absorb water. I have 40 years in the contruction industry and have constructed many shower enclosures for clients. This is the first and last time I use this system. I have followed the fitting instructions rigorously, taking a long time in making sure I get it right but will now have to tile over the whole lot! The method of fitting the plastic shower seal kit is likely to fail purely because there is an mdf edge relying on a BED of silicone to prevent water from soaking it. If that bed of silicone is not microscopically perfect then the material is guaranteed to fail. I am bitterly disappointed with what has happened and want you to be aware of the risk you are taking by installing this system.
Hard to install with limited advice available

Not really for the DIY'er. Time consuming, hard to install as warped when delivered and impossible to clean if you accidentally get any sealer on it! No product advice available at b&q and Splashwall website is limited.

Product looks good when installed. I did not unpack it for several weeks, keeping it flat. However, despite the protective strips, I found some chips in the edges and it was not flat when I came to install it.

This product looks stunning and is a fantastic alternative to tiles. Looks great and no problems with grout in the future!
