A decent plane

A very nice little plane, fun to use, no frills, did the job as intended.

Bof !!!!

Très petit prix mais très peu maniable et utile

DarrellB - 1 / 5 - 24/03/2022

Poor quality

It snapped on first use. Nothing more to add, apart from avoid buying.

Sulk - 2 / 5 - 25/08/2021

Not that effective

I bought this to trim the doors in my room after laying down new flooring. I wish I had just bought an electric one. This required a lot of effort and wasn’t that effective

Useful

Bought this to level off some floorboards, and it did a great job with minimum elbow grease.

plumco - 4 / 5 - 24/07/2017

light & easy to use

saves carrying a heavy plane or a full tool kit from Newcastle to Aberdeen

Flash43 - 5 / 5 - 12/06/2017

Great lightweight tool

Really good little plane for taking small amounts off the bottom my lounge doors after fitting a new carpet.

Not good value

You can buy the exact same one at engineering agencies for just over £8 & on top of that, it isn't very efficient.

A bit of a mistake

On the plus sides this planer has a very straight "grating" edge, is reasonably solid for being made out of plastic and does leave a good smooth finish. I can only image this tool has a very specific function in which it performs well, but I don't know what that function is. I've tried this on a number of materials including hard and soft woods, along and against the grain. It does take off wood, but incredibly slowly (to plane a 3mm thick piece of pine down by a millimeter expect to be at it for at least 10 minutes). Sandpaper is a much quicker way to go. It does however do an excellent job of taking off dried gorilla glue... but that's the only use I've found for it.

Don't waste your money

Rubbish, does not do what it states.
