It's sand, what else can you say, but there's a 50 character minimum so here goes.
The grain structure was consistent and appropriate. The moisture level was high but I was making mortar and kiln dried sand wasn't needed. It's relatively expensive compared to the bulk product but when you're making small batches it's convenient and other than an illegal trip to the beach with a bucket and spade, there aren't many other options.

Bought a couple of bags for patio repointing (dry mix). Damp, claggy consistency with loads of lumps about the size & shape of baked beans - seems like it had clay content in it. Also a fair amount of small stones. I ended up running through a fine garden sieve.
Great price, great sand

It is wet but I'd expect to pay more than double for dry sand plus its going to get wet where its going.

This is definately NOT building sand, it is coarser than sharp sand. When mixed, can best be described as granola. There are more lumps of quartz (up to 8mm) than grains of sand so much so that I thought I had picked up bags of rock salt by mistake.
