I bought this approx 3 weeks ago to repair cracked grout in the splash area of the shower. The old grout was thoroughly raked out from the tiles all along the lower area of the shower, the gaps thoroughly cleaned and allowed to dry for 24 hours. After then checking to make sure the area to be grouted was dry the grout was given a good mix and applied making sure that all the gaps between tiles were filled and not just skimmed over. The joints were smoothed and the area was cleaned using a damp cloth taking care not to touch the grouted area. and left to dry as stated on the instructions for 24 hours. After 24 hours the grout was polished and left for a further 12 hour before using the shower.
After using the shower for 3 days I noticed the new grout was starting to wash out, after checking all grout it was now soft. I contacted the Unibond help line to see if they could throw some light on the problem and was told I should have left it to dry for 48 hours contrary to the instructions on the tub, this was pointed out and also that the grout was allowed a further 12 hours to dry on top of the advised 24 hours. After giving the batch number and date from the lid I was told that somebody would contact me from the next level up in 2/4 days then the line went dead!!!
Waited 2 days, no phone call and rang back. Told that a guy called Alex would call, but it could take a few days or up to 8 weeks!!! Now that is great customer support, I think not. Probably best if they removed the contact number from the tub.
At this stage tape was being used to cover where some of the grout was coming out so that the shower could be used. The images show the tape and more grout coming out, at this stage the Unibond product was returned to B&Q who immediately refunded and supplied an alternative produce, not Unibond. The defective material was raked out and exactly the same procedure was carried out regarding application and wait time with perfect results.
5 stars to B&Q for their customer support, they deserved it, but Unibond -5 stars for their disgraceful customer helpline support.

I have just tiled my bathroom with gloss white metro tiles and bought this grout as it is supposedly 'ice white'. I was under the impression that would mean the grout was super white. Unfortunately, no. Against my bright white tiles the grout was a cream colour. I will now have to go over the whole lot again with another grout. Well cheesed off. Total waste of money and, more importantly, time.
Absolute rubbish waste of money

I have been tiling for years and have never experienced anything like this product .Just a small area to do 1/2 sq metre ,usually I would fix tiles with just adhesive and grout later, bought this to save a bit of time ah, ah. What a nightmare, Opened the tub and there was liquid on top,and what seemed a chalky substance below very difficult to mix and it just didn't feel right.I should have given up when I applied this rubbish to the wall, it just didn't spread right,I put a few tiles on but they didn't slide, when trying to move them they fell off.I persevered, as it was only a small job, just wanted to get it done, should have known better, almost done and tiles started falling off. So l decided to take the lot off, which was surprisingly easy as most of them fell off when I touched them. Then the clean up took me another hour, what a mess, I wasted a full morning on this project , which should have taken about an hour and I will have to start all over again yippee. Not be using this rubbish again though, never again
