This Valspar Universal White Primer & Undercoat (2.5L) is designed for use on both interior and exterior surfaces. It provides excellent adhesion, ensuring a smooth finish for topcoats. Ideal for preparing wood, metal, and plaster, this primer helps improve paint durability and coverage, offering long-lasting protection. Suitable for a wide range of DIY and professional painting projects.

- Instructions for Use - Stir contents thoroughly to ensure paint is evenly mixed, apply 1 coat using a suitable brush, roller or professional spray equipment. Apply liberally, working from dry areas into the paints wet edge and finish with gentle verticle strokes, avoid excessive brushing. Extra coats may be required when making dramatic colour changes. Do not thin this product. Dries to the touch in about an hour under normal conditions, allow 2-4 hours between coats.

Superb undrcoat
This is another paint that is highly recommended by my decorator. It has great adhesion, coverage and consistency. A superb quick drying undercoat to complement the top coat.

Did the job required without issue
Bought this product as the previous paint came away from a wall which had been wallpapered and returned the wall to bare plaster. I was a little concerned with some reviews that stated the paint dripped a lot but I had no issue applying the paint with a roller and also using a brush around the edges. The product was very nice to use, dried quickly and looked fine after 1 coat but I applied a second coat the next day. When I then applied the main paint bought for the room, you wouldn’t know that one wall had a different product on it.

It’s a primer undercoat. Just to reiterate what another reviewer has said, this paint is a primer undercoat. It’s function is not to act like a top coat and hide what is underneath. It’s is to provide a good bond to the surface underneath so that the top coat does not peel off. I have used it on several projects and it does this well.

Its actually pretty good
I bought this when repainting my kitchen cabinets. First I want to clarify, this is not a paint. It is a primer. Other reviews seem to think it's going to give perfect coverage, its not. It will however coat your surface well before painting. I removed the vinyl covers from my cabinets, and then sanded well, and cleaned any residue from them before using this. I found it easy to apply, quick dying and not too smelly. If you slap it on without sanding or cleaning the area first, you arent going to get a good finish. Read the instructions and it's good. I followed up with valspar paint and 7 months later its holding up great. I bought another tin last week and I'm now using it to do my mums kitchen too. Long story shirt, it's pretty good if you use it right.
