Was going to buy Dulux, and whilst having tin 'shaken', was persuaded to compare with Valspar. Again this was shaken, and yes Valspar looked marginally whiter so bought.
Upon application with a used but cleaned roller, it was clear that a paint skin had formed and subsequently shaken into the paint. Countless large pieces of skin had to be removed from roller tray, roller and ceiling. Ideally, paint would have been strained.
Maybe that particular pot of paint had been shaken and opened multiple times, ultimately allowing a skin to form, and any paint could suffer this, however I have never suffered this problem with any new pot of Dulux / Crown / Leyland / Albany etc.
Would I use this paint again? Only if there was a specific colour I needed, that was not available in a different make. This is a paint for rough & ready 'slap-on jobs', not a quality finish.

I bought this Valspar white emulsion product three days ago. Labelled as "Perfect" and used it to paint a living room ceiling using a good roller. I was disappointed with the variable patchy finish that one might expect from cheaper paints. Overpriced, and not good value for money. In future I will only buy Trade paints where available rather as these tend to be more consistent.

If you are looking for a paint that covers well, this is not it, as it is very thin. I used this paint on a freshly plastered wall, but first used a cheaper brand of white emulsion to achieve the required coverage. I very lightly sanded the wall after applying the cheaper brand then use the roller to apply this paint with excellent results.

Not sure if I got a duff pot but this is the worst emulsion I’ve bought. Ever. I’ve changed rollers, brushes, paint trays and no matter which room I’ve used this stuff in it covers terribly. I’ve stirred, shaken and tried to mix it up to no avail. Only bought the stuff as it was on offer, normally buy the cheap BQ own brand. Could fill a swimming pool with what I will eventually take up the tip, quite suitable really as painting water onto my walls and ceilings would do a better job.
