Not fit for purpose

Useless tool. The holes get clogged up straight away and you just end up punching holes in the lawn. Might as well save your money and use a garden fork instead.
Difficult to operate

Holes get clogged up with earth, not manageable for anything larger than a small garden unless you have all weekend
Does the job

I was looking for an aerator to do my two lawns, one being small to medium in size and the other just small.
I'd seen this one priced quite reasonably but the reviews on here really put me off.
I decided to get it anyway as it felt really study in the shop.
It did both lawns no problem and I didn't have any issues with it. Seemed quite sturdy. Is it possible the other reviewer's had a bad batch or used incorrectly? I don't know. But it was fine for me.

They have welded the separate parts together with single weld spots. I.e. you put any weight on it, it breaks. Mine was an impulse buy. Got home, put it on the grass, pushed down - snap.
no problems for me

scared by the reviews, i took a chance as the price seemed reasonable for what it was. found it worked perfectly for me. a lawn of 6 by 9 metres done both ways left clean holes and popped the plugs out leaving a proper space rather than stabbing it. the soil was slightly damp which helped but even though hit a few rocks on the way it went back in the shed in as good condition as when started.
