Great compost

I am very pleased with this compost. When I opened the bag it wasn’t clumped together.I used it to pot on some seedlings and they have done well.Drainage is good as well.Would definitely buy again.

Very cost wise

A very hard to beat compost excellent, so versatile and looks great when spread

Perfect compost for seedlings

This is the best compost I’ve ever used. Jones never fails to impress, especially when you get to the lower numbers i.e. Jon’s number one or two, which is what you need when you’re trying to grow vegetables or flowers for that matter anything by seed because it seems such a waste to get anything over them the best you can to give the plants the best starter can have.

Great

Lovely to use, very light and airy. Good price and quality. Would recommend.

Very light and airy perfect 4 small plants/bulbs

I don’t know why others complained about this, they must’ve got a bad batch. I absolutely love this, it’s so light and airy, so beautiful. My only suggestion for the company would be to sift it to make like easier because I did have to pick some pebbles and sticks out however I love how airy and light it is otherwise. I’ve planted my dahlia tubers in this after pre-moistening the soil and also popped all my seedlings into it in containers. Overall great product I am looking forward to seeing my plants thrive with this.

Excellent

John Innes compost has been available for decades unlike the more recent peat free versions available. These are ok but can be a little tricky to use for seed sowing, cuttings and young plants. Using the John Innes range overcomes some of the issues that I have experienced with modern composts and gives excellent results. Being a loam based compost, it’s heavier in weight so plants are less likely to be knocked over or blown down in the case of mature plants.

Good choice of product

Its that time of year when new plants need to be potted up and I chose to buy this John Inness compost at B&Q because they offer a good choice of product at a competitive price.

Poor product not fit for use

Full of bits of twigs and bark. Found Westland stuff to be poor these days across the range. Very disappointing

John innis number 1

A good product but a too wet inside needs to be dryer for better use.
