Acanthus leaves decorate many of Morris’s designs and are made a central feature in his ‘Acanthus’ pattern for wallpaper. First used in Ancient Greek friezes and on the capitals of Corinthian columns, these swirling, curling leaves have decorated walls and buildings ever since. Morris found this classical motif ideal for repeating patterns and believed the large pattern he created here was perfect for smaller rooms, creating a more restful atmosphere than a smaller, dense pattern. Acanthus Misted Sage wallpaper displays the beauty of Morris’ large leafy designs in muted tones of green, laid upon a light grey background, ideal for adding a sense of calm into any space.

We think it looks brilliant.
Looks great and goes on the wall very well and was easy to match the pattern. The paper looks like it might be reinforced, and it seemed to have a bit of malleability in it as I adjusted the edges, which was helpful. It is a paste the wall paper which I rarely use, I usually prefer to paste the paper, but I found it easier to apply. There is a large pattern match offset so I did use more paper than expected, and it is more expensive than we normally have, but I have no complaints as it’s exactly what we wanted and looks fantastic!
