Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cordless Grinder = More Movement and not cut cords Worx WX 800 20V / 115mm cordless grinder with 2 batteries. I was given this tool to check it out. As a keen DIY'er, I love to use power tools to make the job easier and as a cordless grinder, this defiantly does the job. Now, as an honest review, I do not use a grinder a lot but I have experience using them. I have a very well know "_&_" branded corded grinder and I have used it to grind down screws, cut bolts and get rid of gutter hangers. It worked a treat but the cord kept on getting in the way especially when I was up a ladder with extension cord attached to the grinder. Health and safety nightmare. Now, Worx's have sorted out this with the cordless grinder. It is a heavy tool and relatively on par with it's corded counterpart. I would say the Worx's tool is slightly heavier but it is balanced well. The guard easily unclips, moves and clips in place with ease. The spindle lock works well but us do need a tool to undo the disc lock. Would have been better if you didn't need the tool but this is a slight niggle. The handle can be placed on either side and gives you more command over the tool. The power button is simply pushed on and if let go, it stops. However, if you push the button up and in, the grinder stays on if you remove our finger off the power button. This is a great addition so you can use the tool with more ease. As a fair test, I have used the tool fully charged. I placed some screws into some wood and timed myself grinding the screws with both corded and cordless tools. I sued the corded version first and I found the cord getting in the way but it did offer constant power. The 2 x 20v batteries does a decent job and gives more than enough power to "cut" the screws. I only used 1 battery during the test and it still had enough power left over at the end. As I said before, I am very experienced in DIY and do love power tools and the gap between corded and cordless is lessening. I do believe that the Worx WX800 is a well built, robust tool and would be fine for anyone needing a grinder. For a professional and for constant use, I cannot give my opinion as I cannot test it for longevity and within projects needing constant use of a grinder. I would easliy recommend the Worx WX800 grinder for any keen DIY'er.
