Poor quality compared to original
I bought this deadlock as a replacement for an existing Yale BS1 and the product has been transformed...for the worse! The brass plate material used to form the receiver plate is half the thickness it used to be. The interior handle is now plastic instead of metal and has a hollowed out back which feels cheap. The flat of the latch mechanism sticks out much further than before meaning that the flat hits the receiver rather then the angled bit... door will not just close over now, it needs a good slam. This is not adjustable as far as I can see and the gap between door and frame is already 8mm. Cost cutting in materials and a poor redesign in the process, but still £££. Merciless profiteering by Yale.

Poorer quality than previously
Bought to replace supposedly identical model fitted 13 years ago. New version is inferior - handle is hollow behind rather than being curved; backplate to the striker (staple) is thinner. Screws are brass effect posidrive rather than solid brass slot head. If this is a replacement, you'll need to pack behind the staple - it's critical there is less than 5mm gap between the lock and the striker for the door to latch properly. For something bought so infrequently, would prefer quality to be maintained even if it meant price increase.

Solid Lock
Great lock - replaced the previous cheap lock with relative ease.

Excellent Lock
I'm a Locksmith this is a very good lock and the price is very good, even cheaper than trade suppliers!!! Takes a moderate level of skill to fit well.

Very good
Good delivery and price. No problems. I bought it to replace the same lock bought 15years ago. It fitted fine but the striking plate is slightly different and needed a chisel to make it fit. Not a major problem.
