YouGarden Climbing Rose New Dawn ™ 3L Pot
Product details
Product information
Rose 'New Dawn' bursts to life in early summer with beautiful shell-pink blooms until autumn. It also boasts a lovely scent that fills the patio or garden. Climbing roses are perfect for adding height to the garden, where they are normally grown along house walls and fences but are also perfect for growing up obelisks, arches and trellises. With clusters of large flowers, 'New Dawn' repeatedly flowers throughout the year, adding much needed colour to the garden when other plants start to tire. Rest assured of this rose's pedigree, as it was voted 'World's Favourite Rose' in 1997, and is one of very few climbers to do so, while also achieving the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Supplied as a freshly potted, professional quality plant in a 3L pot, growing to a height of 3.5m. Please note at certain times of the year this variety may be supplied in a 4L pot.
- Planting period - Anytime
- limbing roses are not self-clinging and need support to which the shoots can be tied. If training up pillars, arches or pergolas, twist the main shoots gently around the uprights, keeping them as horizontal as possible, to encourage flowering shoots to form low down.To prune, just remove any dead, dying, damaged and diseased stems and also deadhead regularly. Traditionally, you would cut just above a leaf joint with a sloping cut away from the bud, however, this isn't necessary, and don’t worry about pruning too much - roses are very resilient and will grow back.Shorten side shoots by one third to one half, to encourage branching. When pruning, make sure that your secateurs are clean and sharp to prevent squashing stems and introducing disease.Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help the plant establish quicker.Roses can be planted at any time of the year, as long as the soil is not frozen, waterlogged or drought-dry. Plant your rose where it can get plenty of sun for at least half of the day, and where it will be sheltered from the wind.Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, so add plenty of well-rotted manure into the hole if necessary and plant so that the graft union (the swollen area when the stems meet the roots) is around 3cm below soil level.Water well every other day - daily if the weather is hot and dry. Established roses can be watered around once a week through spring and summer - more if the weather is hot.For best results, feed roses in late-March/April and again in late July.

Beautiful climbing Rose
This is a beautiful climbing rose at a really good price. It arrived on time, packed carefully, a lush green healthy plant and to my surprise a much larger plant than I had expected. After only a few weeks it has settled in it's new home and full of rise buds. I will definitely buy plants from B&Q again.

Lovely climbing rose
Bought this climbing rose 🌹 2 weeks ago and only just planted it, so not sure how it's gonna take, I loved the colour and hoping it will bloom beautifully and that I don't kill it.
