"Mac Allister 1600W Rotary Lawnmower"

Before you begin

A few questions about how you’ll be using your mower can help narrow down your shopping options to find the perfect one.

How large is the lawn?

While smaller spaces are better suited to compact, lightweight mowers, larger gardens need a more durable and robust lawnmower. Greater power is needed to get around these broader lawns quickly and easily. Similarly, there are a number of innovative features that will help make even the toughest mowing job simple so look out for these.

Where will the lawnmower be stored?

Before deciding on the size of your lawnmower, think about both access and storage. Do you need to pass through gates in order to mow your back and front gardens? If so, be sure to measure these in advance of buying to avoid snapping up a model too big to fit through the doors. The same is true of where you'll be storing your lawnmower – make sure you can get it into your shed or garage, as well as having enough space to keep it out of the way.

How close is the lawn to a power source?

A power source close to your lawn gives you more options when it comes to your choice of lawnmower. However, don’t fret if your garden is very large or your lawn away from the power source – we have a wide range of mowers to suit every situation and size of garden.

Let's go through your options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the miney Great little mower if you've got a small lawn. Don't bother spending the extra to get a Bosch or macallister this does the job very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Great little mower for the price! I bought this mower after My Bosch one broke. The Bosch is very expensive compare to this mower so I chose to try this one. I only have a small lawn so it seemed perfect. I have used it and absolutely love it. The mower is very easy to put together and while you are putting the wheels on you can choose between three height options. It also has a great collection basket that goes on the back and I didn't need to stop to empty it as it compacts the grass into it. It has the safety feature on the power button by having to press the button and then pulling the leaver to make it safe if you have little hands around the house. Overalll I am very pleased that I didn't get pulled in to buying a brand for £60 and I chose this wonderful lawnmower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bargain! I bought this for my tiny garden. It's greT for the price, easy to assemble and best of all has a proper metal cutting blade not one of those rubbish plastic things. Picks up the grass too! At this price it won't matter if it only lasts a few years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small and compact for a small garden and shead Very good value for the money and good enough for a small lawn. Another pair of hands would e helpful to put grass box together. Happy with the cutting quality. Also not to bulky for storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent mower Bought this mid 2016 after getting fed up with the effort needed with an old hover mower. It's easy to assemble, it does look cheap but I don't care about that. It's still going strong into 2017. Pros: lightweight, long cord, cuts to almost edge of wheels, picks up grass no problem, easy to empty, small so easy to store, different cutting heights, cuts longer grass no problem Cons: husband would like a shorter cut but I think it's fine, noisy for being so small (97dbs) On balance its amazing for the price. I honestly don't know what another mower could offer to justify being at least twice the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best mower ever...? Just purchased to replace a broken down McCulloch Petrol - massive step down for me. However this is superior in all ways. Lightweight, easy to assemble, 3 different settings and a nice long cable. Goes together and looks like a toy so might not last forever but for the price on a smallish garden it's incredible. Also size makes it easy to store. Highly recommend.
