Euonymus fortunei ‘Emerald ‘n’ Gold’, also known as Spindle, is a well known and much-loved RHS AGM variety, prized for its reliable nature and year-round garden interest. Thriving in most conditions in sun or shade, it’s exceptionally useful for filling spaces in beds and borders where other plants may struggle. The low-growing and spreading habit and of this hardy evergreen makes it ideal for use as a bushy ground cover, particularly in shrubberies or for filling narrow beds the dry shade of a building. The bright yellow and green variegated foliage brings a bright splash of colour throughout the year, turning to shades of pinkish-red in the winter. This low-maintenance plant is the ideal solution for busy households, providing year-round interest with very little fuss.Euonymus plants are versatile, thriving in any soil from light and sandy to heavy clay provided that it is moist and well drained. Euonynus will grow happily in sun or semi shade; however, variegation will be improved when grown in a sunny position.Water well until fully established. Once established, Euonymus plants require little maintenance, except for occasional summer pruning after flowering to maintain the shape of the plant and keep it within its allotted space.
