Where to put curtain pole brackets?

When installing a curtain pole, it’s generally recommended to place the brackets approximately 10-15cm from the sides of the window frame. This is the optimum position for curtain pole brackets, ensuring the curtain panels cover the window properly while allowing enough space for the curtains to hang without obstruction. Aside from the all-important side of the window placement, we advise you position the brackets at a height that will allow the curtains to hang just above the floor or windowsill, depending on your preference. Measurements may vary depending on your curtain style, personal preference, and space, so adjust accordingly.

How many brackets for curtain pole?

The number of brackets required for a curtain installation will depend on the length and weight of the pole. Generally, curtain poles require at least two curtain brackets for support, one at either side of the window. However, if the pole is longer or heavier than standard, you may require an additional bracket in the centre to ensure proper stability and prevent sagging in the middle. Curtain pole bracket requirements will vary, so we advise to consult the instructions for your specific curtain pole to determine the optimum number of brackets based on the specific length and weight.
