Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible performance After looking at various submersible pumps finally settled on the hozelock 7825.required to pump out a metre deep of water in my as for now unused cellar.works easily and with minimal diy skill. One tip for any potential buyer.as no hose is supplied with the pump I recommend buying Hozelock Tricoflex hose. It fits perfectly and retains its shape for unobstructed pumping.£17.95. For the 10m length. Part no 117039.bought at the same time from B&Q.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value & works well This was an emergency purchase when we had a bout of surface water flooding. I dug a sump and dropped it in and within 30 mins the water was all gone. Has a nice auto on/off float switch. Like other reviewers I needed the flat hose which was 25m long (ideally would have wanted 50m) but they dont seem to make that and there was no extender by hozelock so I had to make my own with a bit of pipe & clips. Ridiculously cheap piece of quality kit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flood Pump by Hozelock Works fine. Need min 25mm hose with it not a hosepipe as previous reviewer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Worked very efficiently to clear flood water from the garden. Remember to buy the outlet pipe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, works well We bought this to empty our Bestway 12ft paddling pool which is 30" high. It was the best way to empty it very quickly and B&Q had it on a brilliant special offer. If we ever have a flood we know it will clear that too. You just attach a hose pipe and put it straight into the water which could fill your water butt up and/or water your flowers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Valiant Performer Bought to deal with a garden flood that was threatening garage + contents. When matched with Hozelock Tricoflat 25mm ~7.5m length, it was moving ~3250 litres/hr from a sump ~1.5m below ground. Maximum flow is given as 8000 l/h, but I'd expect that to be with minimum lift and just a stub of *32mm* discharge hose. Once flood was under control, the float switch would turn off automatically. It *sometimes* needed a tug on the line attached to its lifting eye to switch on again. Apart from that, no probs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellant purchase Have presently got it hooked up to 50 metres of 25mm hose to empty a large pond that has a lot of surface water draining into it and it seems to be coping very well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy but not 5 stars I bought this to clear a basement that flooded due to next doors basement pump packing up and flooding mine. It's extremely simple to use, just attach a flat drain hose (not a hose pipe), plug it in and drop it in the water. Two things need to be shared. 1) It doesn't drain what it's put in completely as it will cut out with 19cm of water left. You can eek out a few more cm if you hold the cut off valve higher than the water, but you'll still be left with about 5-6cm of water. 2) The cut out valve seems very hit and miss indeed and I wouldn't trust it unless it was left with a large space around the pump to float freely. In a pool etc, it'll be fine, but in my basement it needs a big hole to be dropped in. For my situation, I needed to dig a pit in my basement so that the top of the pump was lower than the floor. It appears to have a ball in the floating valve, and if it's tipped at the right angle it will set the motor off, and then as it drains and the float gets lower, it will shut off when the ball rolls to the other end. The only issue is it doesn't appear the ball rolls very easy. I did find the drain/flat hose that is needed (and not included) to be a particular pain to get 'flat' all the way from my basement, up the stairs and out into the garden, as the slightest kink just stopped it. Once running, it's very quiet indeed and just gets on with the job.
