A natural sandy loam it is ideal for laying turf on or seeding grass seed.

This virgin, peat free, topsoil is sourced only from Greenfield sites then left to sit fallow for a number of years to ensure maximum nutrition and fertility. It is then screen it to about 14mm, so there are some stones of just under an inch in there - this helps make sure that the soil stays nice and free draining.

This topsoil does not contain grass seed, the Lawnmix Topsoil is designed to go under turf or seed and is not suitable as a topdressing for lawns.

Please note: Our topsoil is not chemically treated for weeds. Weeds thrive in warm, wet weather and especially in very fertile soils and composts like our own. Although every care is taken to remove weeds during our screening process we can not guarantee that weed seeds are not present in the soil or compost that you receive. To keep your topsoil organic we suggest pulling up common weeds, when and if they appear, instead of using chemical weed-killers. The addition of a membrane and potting grit or mulch will lead to an easy weed free garden.
