Maris Peer is an excellent garden performer and a rewarding vegetable to grow. Their firm creamy flesh remains even after boiling, with a delicate flavour making them ideal for roasting or having cold in salads. This heavy yielding variety has good resistance to skin disease and can be harvested all-year round.
- Moist, fertile & well drained soil
- Plant in March - May, Harvest period June - July
- Chit your potatoes before you plant. Chitting allows the seed potato to produce little sprouts before they're planted in the ground. This gives them a great head start. The easiest way to chit seed potatoes is by placing them in a egg carton, positioned in a cool frost free location. Once the little shoots are about 3cm long, they're ready for planting.
