Product information
A fantastic columnar version of a classic shrub, Weigela ‘Towers of Flowers Apple Blossom’ is not only highly prolific with masses of flowers along it’s upright stems, but it’s the perfect solution for a narrower border space too. Blooms in pretty shades of pink appear in late spring, then often a small second flurry in late summer too. Fast growing, hardy and resilient, this low maintenance shrub provides an effective and attractive screen useful for front gardens or garden boundaries. Grow Weigela in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil. Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Weigela requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
