Showering - Aquadry wetrooms

The flooring system integral to our Aquadry kits has been tried and tested for many years in the toughest commercial environments such as swimming pools. Easy to install, they're designed to give your bathroom floor a completely waterproof base (called 'tanking' in the trade) over which you can lay your choice of tiles.

Wetrooms & wetzones - Questions answered...

Q: Is it OK with underfloor heating?
A: It works brilliantly with electric systems but isn't suitable for wet systems.

Q: What comes in the base kit?
A: Everything you need to get the area ready for tiling - foam base, all tapes, adhesives, sealers and the waste.

Q: Why can't everyone have a flat base?
A: The flat kit gives the most desired look but it's only possible where the waste tap and pipe can fit comfortably within the floor.

Q: The best option on concrete?
A: The 150mm kits gives plenty of room for plumbing to be hidden underneath.

Q: Why do you need an Aquadry kit to create a wetroom?
A: Without the kit, a tiled floor wouldn't be waterproof - water would seep through the grout.

Q: What tiles should be used?
A: Mosiacs are the best and easiest to work with in a wetroom. Stone mosaics work particularly well due to their increased slip resistance.

Note 1 - Due to the need for the tray to be recessed 30mm into the floor and the waste trap and pipe, the level access tray is not suitable.
Note 2 - The 50mm raised tray could be used on a concrete floor but the floor would have to be chased out to accommodate the waste trap and waste pipe.
Note 3 - MDF could be covered with 18mm exterior grade plywood which would enable use. For all Aquadry kits on all floor types you will also need an existing 40mm or 50mm waste pipe running from the area where the drain will sit or provision to run a new 40mm or 50mm waste to the soil stack without going through timber joists. The waste trap has been tested to drain up to 60 litres of water per minute.

*The Aquadry wetroom kit includes the shower tray, waterproof boards, wood floor primer, shower drain and waste accessories, waterproofing tapes and adhesives. Price excludes shower tray. Tiles not included.
