A thimble rope is regarded as an annular reinforcement of rope eyes as a rope end connection. The thimbles are also used when short wire ropes are to be connected or wound. Suitable for fast rope connections in boating, shipbuilding, flying, gliding. They are pressed directly into the cordage, sails and tarpaulins or spliced into the cordage eyes.
