Disappointing for the money

We bought this shed and we're delighted with B&Q's service. Delivery was prompt and assembly followed soon after - very excited, we had worked extremely hard laying a suitable base. The finished result is very disappointing. The ceiling stuts are warped and in places the laps are so warped that they bow outwards leaving enormous gaps that would allow vermin to enter with ease. There is an huge number of knots and some have split and daylight shows through which could mean it will not be waterproof. The perspex at the windows is so thin that one is already broken. We will have to re-treat immediately because of the colour variations.

Poor Quality-look elswhere

No good things to say about this shed. For over £400 (after deduction of saving for self assembly) the quality of both materials and workmanship is very poor. Being resonably good at DIY and enlisitng the help of my son, I decided to cancel the assembly by B&Q which was included in the original price, and was astonished to save £180. Bad things about this shed - Parts of the vertical framing were bowed by more than 25mm, meaning it was difficult to make the walls vertical without breaking the insubstantial framing. Wall panels did not align vertically at the corners, resulting in gaps which we will have to fill with sealant to stop rain coming in. Butt joint of separate panels in the front and rear faces is not good due to the bow of framing (despite trying very hard to screw then together tightly) and will surely leak with a bit of wind driven rain. Overlap boarding is made from very rough timber and some sections were warped, resulting in some gaps between overlapping boards of up to 40mm in places. Overlap boarding also had many knot holes resulting in physical holes of up to15mm. Floor panels are constructed from quite thin boarding which sag alarmingly between bearers when you walk over them. The roof panel supports are also very flimsy and all the felting must be done from the perimeter of the roof otherwise you risk breaking the bearers. Plastic window panels are also very flimsy and I am thinking of replacing them with glass. The door is not braced so could warp over time. To store anything in this shed that you want to keep dry or to keep unwanted pests out you need to insulate and line it, and strengthen the floor with an additional layer of boarding. My last shed was less than half this price and lasted over twenty years - I have now painted this new shed with an additional two coats of preservative but will be suprised if it lasts five years despite the statement of 10 years expected life. The timber pallet on which the shed components were delivered is better quality than the shed itself. My advice - do not buy this product - look elsewhere.
