Does what I bought it for.
Great Dehumidifier taking loads of water out of a damp room efficiently. Was a Which recommended buy and B&Q had it at the best price. Only blip is the instructions were not very clear. Arrived next day even though delivery quoted at 5 to 6 days.

THis product is almost great.
I bought this to help with drying my washing and preventing damp. Im really pleased that the method works for me. Only problem is that the on/off button is troublesome. I have to keep pressing until it works, and I turn it off at the wall in exasperation. Hopefully its not going to get any worse - its such a nuisance trying to return appliances that are bought online.

Excellent Puremate 20L dehumidifier from B&Q
I recently bought this Puremate 20 Litre Dehumidifier as a result of the recommendation from WHICH? magazine Best Buys. It does a good job or removing most of the condensation from upstairs rooms of a 3 bed property. I use it for approximately 8 hrs/day which costs about 60 pence and over this period of wet and cold weather the mold build up on the windows and frames has not returned. The 20L tank has been is a massive advantage as I only have to empty the container once a week, I would hate to imagine how often I would have to empty a 12L tank per week. The variety of programs are useful and I like to change the humidity to 50% rather than anything higher (Homebuilding & Renovating suggest that a good humidity range for a UK house should be between 50 and 55%rh). Additionally, I use the timer function to capture most of the condensation during bathroom, washing a cooking times. Using the timer in four hour cycles and the fan speed at its optimal, helps to keep the electricity price to about 8-9p/hour. The only detractor from buying the Puremate 20L dehumidifier, is the awful instructions/owners manual. A three year old could write better instructions with more clarity and understanding, the information provided is open to interpretation and is unclear about how the various programs set-up and work. The instructions need to be re-written by an engineer (possibly a four year old or more).
