Plucky little saw let down by blade clamp

I bought this saw because my main jigsaw let me down on a Sunday and BnQ was the only place open. That was three years ago. I notice most of the negative reviews here are down to the blade being loose. I found this to be a problem straight away, the two allen key bolts that keep the blade in place are of a cheap metal which gives way when trying to tighten for thicker cuts. I solved this by boring the holes out (the plastic guard had to be removed for this) and replacing with two self-tappers. Since then this saw has been integral in the construction of a 30ft by 14ft home built shed, two van - motorhome conversions and 16 x 4cm thick radiator plinths. Once the blade clamp issue is resolved, this wee workhorse will cut anything - I've even cut concrete slabs with an appropriate blade! Finally the cheap metal that holds the screws has given way, so its bin-time. If BnQ charged an extra five bucks for this and put a proper blade clamp on it, it would be an epic saw for the money - no frills. I'm giving it 4 stars for its long service. Flags are at half-mast as it goes in the bin.

Not cheap enough - ended up in the bin

Blades keep falling out due to unfit clamp design. Cutting straight is barely possible due to blade not aligning with guide marker. It's cheap, but should be so much cheaper, or removed from sale. As others have said, it's not fit for purpose. Products like this end up in the bin after a short life, leaving a dent in your wallet and the environment.

Do not buy

I bought 2 days ago for a small hobby project. I thought this would be suitable and I didn't required a super powerful tool. However, the blade will not stay straight at all. The product is not fit for purpose.

Poor quality

Don't bother bought it to cut wood quickly it's a joke can't cut straight and is so underpowered I was better using my hand saw.

Good value

I bought this jigsaw about a month ago and it's done everything I needed it to do. I don't do much DIY so for me it was perfect

Not good enough

I had to return this is it wasn’t fit for purpose. You only get what you pay for

Tarbec - 1 / 5 - 04/07/2017

Dreadful product

This product is awful to use, the blade moves out of position while cutting. The guard doesn't slide all the way up, which in turn made fitting the blade super fiddly. The guard blocked the view so it made guiding the blade very difficult

Do not buy this jigsaw.

Very cheap but certainly not cheerful. Barely cuts at all and you can forget about straight lines. Do not buy.

OPP-350W Jigsaw VJS350HF.

I bought this JigSaw for a specific reason - Got Wood flooring and wanted to cut out the DEFINITION of 1 DOOR JAMB. That is only why I bought this CHEAP JIGSAW. Do not BUY IF WANTED FOR A HEAVY BIG JOB. - it will not work. ONLY reason I bought it - MY others has so much work they expired working for I. Do not expect doing much more DIY. using a JIGSAW.

Mijaner - 2 / 5 - 11/04/2016

Very limited usage

This jigsaw would probably be ok for very light cutting but unfortunately not up to heavier cuts. Bought it for kitchen chipboard worktop but did not work well at all, would not cut straight lines.
