Garbage

Really roughly finished and needs copious sanding. The door was to be fitted by a professional but when he unwrapped it it was clearly not built properly as one of the joints had parted. Its replacement appeared to be better built but after 2 months of service one of its joints has sprung. We'll be looking elsewhere for the next attempt.

Disappointing purchase

These doors needed a lot of work to get a good finish and I should have insisted on them being returned. The wood is totally unseasoned. Would be more suitable for an outhouse where appearance is of little concern.

Poor quality wood and workmanship

Joints not 45 deg and some require filling, wood not cut correctly causing the wood to splinter and leave holes (also the reverse whereby you need to cut the excess wood away), gaps in angle joints and where wood stuck together, unsanded and extremely rough texture, fine splinters around most of the edges and top and bottom edges even rougher than the main surfaces which would require sanding/planing if the door was running over carpet Not something I would recommend if you want to make a feature of the door (glaze or stain). Definitely not up to the same standard as the other doors (glass inserts) I ordered from the same supplier, but after returning the first door due to extensive damage, and having to wait another 5 days for this, I repaired this where needed and painted to cover up the flaws.

panel door

Excellent door but when about to fit it , it was damaged so I was sent a damaged door

poor quality for the price

Bought 4 of these. The vertical sides are made of several pieces of wood glued together. This makes them difficult to plane, without taking chunks out.

save youself the hassle

Buyer beware. These doors arrived sopping wet as unseasoned wood, the packaging was damaged and the doors had been chipped and dented. I persevered although should have returned asap! But after waiting in all day for delivery I was keen to get on with the job. After hanging the doors they changed shape atleast three times despite being varnished with three coats, oh and worse still they split and cracked at the joints. Worse than what you could probably imagine. After replaning three times I considered returning the doors however a quick check on the forums i could see others had had no luck due to the water tight disclaimer on the packaging. In the end i have had to use a whole tub of filler and three coats of gloss and thankfully the doors have now stabilised. Three coats of varnish one coat of primer and three coats of gloss! And hour upon hour of work! They actually look spot on now but I wish I'd just paid for decent doors and I could have saved a fortune in time and paint and had the varnished look I had hoped for! I will never buy any wood products from b and q again.

Excellent value

Excellent value for those trapped by the new building regulations having to put huge wide door into their home extension. Varnished well after some sanding, definitely did not arrive ready to treat/paint.
