Looks good but breaks easily

This broke after 10 months. Same reason as everyone else. Cheap internal plastic fitting - the top just snapped off when pulled. Got another one. That lasted 12 months and broke. Same problem. Avoid this if you can and get a better quality one

Sink fixing

Purchased as the original "knob" broke off (metal fracture) - installed 2 years and as we hardly ever shut the sink, it must have had an inherent manufacturing fault. I thought this would be a straight forward job - just use the original cable with the new knob assembly (no need for the sink hole assembly - which look a lower quality anyway) - except the new sink closure version is not the same quality as the original, so I had to file down the the end of the cable (original was solid rectangular end with matching hole to fit it in - new one is a small round sphere - with small round hole to match) Anyway sorted it after half an hour and it works fine, so more irritating than anything else - hope I won't have to go through this again in 2 years.

Astracast Chrome Effect Metal Sink Fixing

I am now on the 3rd sink fixing, whilst the overall look of the product is good, the internal mechanism is very poor as it is just a plastic spindle and snaps quite easily. The first one did not last more than 3 months after the main installation of our kitchen, and the second one has just given up the ghost !!!!!! 3rd time lucky, would'nt mind paying a couple of quid more for something more substantial !!!!!!

Not particularly sturdy

I'm on my third one in 12 months so far. The plastic knob that u pull is very brittle and snaps easily. I'd happily pay more for a more durable version but there doesn't seem to be one. Stuck with keep buying these every few months!

Astracast - Astracast Chrome Effect Metal Sink Fix

We've been using this product for about 19 months, the product works well and is constructed well apart from one main part. Inside the unit is a plastic piece that connects the pull lever to the wire so a pretty critical part. This has broken after 19 months, I've called B&Q who said to contact the manufacturer who quoted me £36 pounds for a new full unit. Not impressed with the poor quality as not designed to last.

First one was in a sealed bag. Removed from the bag and found the the silver plunger was glued shut and broken. Returned to the shop. There were a few damaged ones on display shelf. Before leaving the shop we removed the item from the bag to check it. We have had the item a week and no problems so far.

Not for ceramic sinks!

The clamping bolt isn't long enough to sandwich my Franke ceramic sink and it would appear this product is only suitable for steel sinks. Shame really as it cost me £5 postage and the product is good. Why couldn't they provide two bolts ?

Rare as hens teeth

These pop kitchen sink wastes are a nightmare to find so I was REALLY pleased to see B&Q had them. Excellent price, well made and easy to fit. BARGIN!
