Great idea!
Buy these a lot. Great when trying to put clips on brick walls.

Pin plugs.
These are very handy when trying to clip cables to a solid wall, my only gripe is that they are very expensive for what they are.

Just the job, worked fine for me
Used a 5mm drill bit for the first one but was too loose so went down to a 4mm and that was fine, held the double T&E cable clips in perfectly.

They work if used correctly
They 5 mm holes I drilled for them crumbled because the material of the wall was very old. So the plus were too loose. I filled the holes with pollyfilla and pushed in the plugs. About an hour later I used them for mounting 2.5 mm flat cable. They worked perfectly. Ideally you need a perfetly sound wall with a hole slightly ,a mm or two, deeper than the length of the plug but the whole plug needs to be in the wall as the working end is the widest part. There are no instructions with the package.

Utter Rubbish
These are completely useless for domestic use if drilling into the mortar. Might work if you live in a concrete house or you drill into the actual brick, but then that would be more effort than required for clipping a cable to the wall. Like most things this shop sells, they are over priced and below par quality-wise. Maybe someone in the B&Q enterprise should do their due diligence before selling products, to see if they actually work.

Didn't work for me
I thought these would be perfect but they didn't work for me. I drilled 5mm holes in a (softish) stone wall and inserted the plugs but they were not held tightly at all and would slip out easily. I thought maybe once the cable clips were hammered in the plugs would expand and be held more tightly but nope. The center holes in the plugs were too large for the nails in my clips and the clips simply fell out. I had 7mm Nartel round cable clips and also tried some other 6mm cable clips I had, but the problem was the same with both. Maybe they are designed for cable clips with bigger/thicker nails. In the end I just inserted wooden dowels into my holes and drove the nails into those. I would have preferred to use these clips but didn't have time to source clips with bigger nails. Make sure your cable clip nails fit these tightly. Also I feel a 4.5mm hole would fit the plugs better (though I don't have a 4.5mm masonry drill bit to test).

These are brilliant !!
Saves on bent clip nails and bruised thumbs, just to remember use a 5mm drill bit (no bigger) otherwise they’ll slop around and will be no use, the tighter the hole the tighter the pin goes in.

Fantastic Product
For years I've bent hundreds of nails trying to hammer cable clips into hard walls pr blocks. I saw these in the store and thought they were worth a try. And they make the job SO easy. I hope they're new and I haven't spent years wasting my time. I'll be using these forever from now on.

Good idea
I bought them recently for my son who was finding it difficult to bang small cable clips into hard brick

cable clip wallplugs
Work well and allow clips to be fixed to brickwork easily. Would be better if stocked in store .
