Atrocious
These are the most diabolical pieces of cast iron ever. I fitted two about a year ago, they broke immediately. I fitted others from another supplier. I fitted another two of these today, one fell into 3 pieces in the packet. I went to store and got it replaced, immediately it broke as soon as I closed it. Do not even breathe on these….they will snap!!! For over 8.00 each, an absolute disgrace!!!

Read this first before buying - very fragile
These window stays look good but are very weak and will break if any force is applied when fitting or if it catches on the latch pin so beware. They are so fragile I think B&Q should withdraw them from sale. There are surely much better antique effect types they could stock. It is worth paying a little bit more for a quality product and avoid wasting time.

Don't buy - it broke straight away
I installed this on my window easily (hence the 3 out of 5 for ease of use) but when I tested it by opening the window and tried to secure it in an open position on one of the pegs, it snapped at the hinge part. Complete waste of my time and effort and I had to reinstall the old stay. It's made of some sort of composite and must have very little strength. I think in hindsight it was made poorly in that it was wonky and so would never have gone over the pegs. I'll be returning it to store and buying a better quality one somewhere else.
