Rubbish item
Having bought this tonight and came home, thinking fitting this would be a nice easy task, I’m irate. Having messed around for over an hour, trying both the transformer and battery options and unable to get this to work I logged into the BandQ website. Looking for any further technical details I came across the previous reviews. To get this to work, I’ve had to hold the bell push continually in, to prove it wasn’t the bell push, I put the old one back up, yes it’s doesn’t look as nice, but works properly. BandQ, this item is rubbish and will be returned ASAP for a refund.

Delay when used with transformer
I bought this to replace an old chime. When wired with a transformer you can't use any of the features advertised, like changing chime etc. as there is no power to the unit until the door button is pressed. When you press the door button there is a delay until the unit chimes, so if guests don''t keep there finger on the button for several seconds it will not work. I've not tried it with batteries.

Poor instructions regarding suitable bell push
The bell push I bought with this would not work so I got a replacement. It still failed to work other than to cause the bell to ring every time I connected it but then not when the push connected the circuit. An electrical engineer thought the reason was the light in the bell push was incompatible with this bell so I had to find a third bell push without a light. Frustrating. I wonder if the manufacturers know this.
