Excellent performing reliable drill
I bought this drill well over 7 years ago for circa £90 and I have been very impressed with it for everything from drilling brick, steel (circa 3-5mm thick up to 7mm diameter), wood up to 16mm diameter. I have even used it to mix paint, grout and plaster for numerous rooms and that's heavy going on it when using a paddle in thick grout etc. I wouldn't recommend it for hammer drilling brick - it can, but the hammer action is quite light. I have used it a lot for screwing and unscrewing items from fences, cabinets even mechanical fasteners. The battery life is still good. There has been no reduction in performance until 2 months ago when I was forced to use it in the rain during the last storm to screw some items down and it got soaked and started sparking and stopped. I dried it in the airing cupboard for 3 days and it it came back to life, but its not as powerful and makes a faint electrical burning smell, but its still going. Its max RPM (1650) is too slow for serious polishing, grinding or sanding. I had low expectations at this price point with two batteries, but I would buy it again if it wasn't that I have a few Makita battery tools now that weren't planned as I would have tried to stick to the same battery platform. Its a shame a number of folks have clearly had some terrible examples it is not what you expect from Bosch, and there is nothing more confusing when there is such a spread of experiences with a product when you are looking to buy it. But I can only say my experience has been 1st rate for a relatively cheap lower capacity and non-professional series , i.e. the green coloured tools verses the blue coloured professional series.

Good drill for the price
Well I know other reviews say it doesn't stand up to much, but I've just drilled 19 holes into a masonry/brick wall to put up some shelves and its done the job great. I must admit when I opened the box I was surprised it looks so small. I thought it wouldn't cut it. But its done the job fine! I'm pleased with it and its easy for me to hold and control. Also with the right attachment I could get into the tight space I needed to. All good!

This product is pure scrap
Wife bought this as a gift for me rarely used it but noticed sparks coming from armature only used for light diy work in the home. Now motor has packed up. Cheap rubbish save your money and buy decent drill. I now have Milwaukee as replacement will never buy Bosch again

What a peace of kit!
I'm not normally a fan of cordless drills I've had a cheap one in the past that really didn't cut it and would fade away before you’d even started and would take decades to charge, normally I would use my trusty 16 year old bosch corded drill but its a big and cumbersome for the smaller lighter jobs so decided heck why not if I'm going to get a proper cordless then let it be a bosch all in one and hey ho I love it! Screw driver, drill and hammer drill plus 2 batteries which I can also use for my bosch leaf blower and visa versa what’s not to like about that :) I work in the arcade industry fixing monitors, repairs, cabinet making and restoration and this drill has been perfect for my day to days jobs, battery lasts a good long time not that that really matters with there being 2, or 3 in my case, 2 charging while I use the other plus battery charge times now have come on leaps and bounds I was really surprised at how quick it can charge a battery. I do like the torque settings it’s a very feature and it stops you from over tightening stuff, I have put the drill through its paces today for a few home DIY jobs with a set of wall mounted shelves the hammer drill was just excellent cutting through the wall as it was plasterboard then bolting up some shelves to the wall, I bought a socket extension drill bit so I can also use a set of ¼” sockets again this has made my life so much simpler and can get my small jobs done in double quick time and not only that I’m not handcuffed to a wall socket all the time which if I’m honest was really getting on me nerves. So all in all very impressed with this drill, I just hope it lasts, seeing some of the reviews here I was a bit sceptical but I suppose its all down to how you use it, you can not expect a cordless to preform like a corded drill, power / ruggedness etc, use it with in it’s means, my drill will never see any real heavy work just light stuff, screws, bolts, wood drilling and the odd wall shelf, anything major then the corded one will come out.

Good drill !!
Got the drill ive had it for a couple of hours and the drill worked for the best part of 20 minutes ish. The drill spins but it now wont engage the gears properly so annoying taking it back in the morning get a new one or maybe a dewalt at an extra £20

Simply the Best!
This is a fantastic drill I can only assume the bad reviews are bad luck or its being used above it's means! As an lady electrician I have small hands, I have to get in tight spaces this drill is perfect. It is light, the grip is excellant (well designed) and it is powerful. I drill into wood, masonary, brickwork & its more than stood up to the task. The batteries last quite well and charge quick enough. I have always used Dewalt, when that died I purchased the stanley fat max taking a punt on a cheaper brand but the battery life was dreadful so i returned and got this as Boasch are a good brand.. Best buy at under a ton.

Both first and replacement failed on day 1
I bought this drill from B&Q and after just 1 hour of drilling pilot holes and screws into MDF, it failed. I returned it and bought an identical new one, that failed on the second day.. absolutely ridiculous. The worst part is I bought other Bosch tools purely so I could use the same battery’s now I’m stuck in the Bosch ecosystem with no drill.

Better than expected
Bought one a few weeks ago to complement a heavy duty corded drill. So far the latter has remained unused as the Bosch seems to cope well with most tasks and is very convenient to use. I’ve had cordless drills before but they seemed underpowered (hence the corded drill), this one is much better despite its small size. The only issue I’ve had so far is that the chuck does work loose sometimes.
