These are ideal for when you do not have a large garden, but still want to be surrounded by nature.

- Plant in September - December. Flowering period - March - April
- Add some soil improver whilst planting to give your plant the best start. Dig a hole twice as big as the pot, remove the pot from the rootball and place in the hole, ensuring the top of the plant roots is level with the soil surface. Backfill soil around the roots and water well.
- After planting, water well during dry spells until roots are established. Use a tree stake to support the tree as it grows and secure the tree to the stake using a tree tie. Remove faded flowers to prolong flowering. Top dress with a general purpose plant food as the last flowers fade.
- Soil pH - Acid to neutral
- H6 - Hardy in all of UK & northern Europe (-20 to -15°C)

- Dense medium-sized evergreen shrub of erect habit, with glossy, elliptic leaves to 10cm in length, bright red when young, later dark green. Flowers creamy-white, rather sparse
- Best in woodland, naturalized or native plant gardens, especially with dark or shaded backdrops which tend to highlight the form, flowers and fall color of the plant
- Prune in winter to maintain shape and size
