Very hard to fit
The product is very hard to fit. The vertical pegs do not easily attach to the horizontal clips even using a hammer to try and force them in.

Looks good but difficult to fit!
Although the seat looks good, it's a nightmare to construct. I'm no sausage and can install flat back with very little instruction, but trying to clip the steel hinge together was so difficult I was sweating! One side is fully in but the other side isn't and the black rubber O ring is still visible? No amount of strength will work. Apart from that, I'm happy with the finish!

Really poor fittings
My first review was censored for being too critical so here is another attempt. My experiences of the product mirror all the other criticisms of the fittings. It is very badly designed

Easy to fit - not
I bought this last weekend & although an experienced handywoman I just could not get the metal hinges to fit - a bit like a ball & socket arrangement. A handyman neighbour came along & he also failed. In the end we managed to re-utilise the plastic fittings from the old seat or I would have had to return this one.

Difficult to fit
Bought this because of the steel hinges, fed up with chrome ones which eventually corrode and shed flakes of chrome. However the pegs were extremely difficult to 'clip' into the horizontal parts that slot into the actual seat. The pegs have little circlips in a recess on the end which perversely seem to prevent you getting them on. I've fitted many seats in my time, but no amount of pressing, hitting or sitting down hard would work. Had to resort to removing and squeezing them together in a vice. Avoid unless you are confident you can do this without breaking it.

Sturdy/Great fit
Bought this toilet seat after returning a plastic bolt one. This toilet seat is great - metal bolts ensure fixing is secure and fastened to toilet Base well. Seat and lid seam durable and well made. Fits toilet perfectly. Only very minor point I would say is that the inner rim seams a little small but it's not a deal breaker. Happy with product and assembly was straight forward.

Cracked - twice
I only weigh 10.5 stone but the seat cracked 9 months into use. B&Q replaced it but now the replacement has cracked in the same place just 11 months on again. The problem is that the rear legs don't rest on the pan so the weight is borne by the front legs and the hinge. Sooner or later, it cracks between these two points - just beside the rear legs which are 5mm above the pan so not sharing the load. Yes I did assemble the hinges correctly.

Decent bog seat but .........
Bought and fitted one of these today so possibly a tad different than the one described in the older reviews. There was only a drawing on the packaging by way of instructions and I was completely confused by putting together the metal fittings that go into the toilet seat. I ended up persuading the bits together with a hammer but probably got it right as it then fitted onto the pan perfectly in about 2 minutes. It sure ain't ever going to lift off for easy cleaning though! Looks and feels great so despite the installation difficulties I am pleased with my choice.

A comfortable choice
I bought 2 toilet seats today and am so glad I didn't heed the negative reviews. The quality is so much better than the seats I replaced (Barrett Homes take note!!). The fitting instructions are simple to understand (pictures) and the pieces screw together easily. There is a device to help tighten the screws which I found very helpful having broken my wrist 6 months ago. So if a crock like me can fit one of these seats in less than 10 minutes, anyone can!

Sitting pretty
I bought this toilet seat to replace a wooden one and I am glad I did. It was simple to install, thanks to a handy plastic spanner type gadget that enables the fittings to be tightened easily. Once installed, the seat sits firmly in place; no more adjusting to keep it firm and safe. It has a very good finish, has been well designed and is easy to clean. I would heartily recommend this seat to anyone who wants a touch of style as well as all the other benefits.
