Disappointing

This has been fitted three weeks now , disappointed as lacquer finish is patchy in textured area of boards - water marks even when using a damp mop. Would not buy it again

Symphonia Rustic oak

Having left the packs as instructed for several weeks in the room to acclimatize, down it went with as other reviews have stated with slight variance in width of board causing some problems. The biggest problem is the amount of expansion of the boards especially in width. The 50mm expansion gaps have closed completely in a 5 meter wide room. The boards were very dry when opened, dried past any normal moisture level. The boards were laid over expensive underlay/DPM combined so there is no rising moisture, just the atmospheric moisture from living on the west coast, so don't lay final row of boards for a week or so and watch your floor grow

Why is the product different from that of the disp

I brought a pack of this flooring to see what it would look like in my home. On unpacking, I was horrified at the notches which ran right along the sides of the planks which looked like it had been stapled down when you laid it on the floor, I agree with the last reviewer the sample on display in store did not have the same notches and is very misleading, I returned pack and got a refund. !!!

Stupid notches in edges

Love the colour and the finish. But if the stupid notches in the edges are meant to look rustic, why are they do regular. And BQ, why in every display (including the photos on this page) do you manage to find planks with no notches at all??? Seriously flawed product. And not as demonstrated in store displays or web site get the suppliers to stop the notches!

My second review..

Gave it 5 stars before, pack was around £56 then, now jumped up to £72.36! To answer others, the little dents along the bevelled edges are meant to be there, as it's rustic.. The only reason I have knocked a star off this time is that the widths (not lengths) of the planks were not all consistent, some, but not many, were up to 3mm thinner, making them unusable. Floors look lovely, but at a cost.

Looks good but some planks are unusable

This product is about 50%-100% more expensive than other hand-scraped solid oak boards we found on line (we tried about 8 different products) but the colour of the B and Q product ("coffee") was what we wanted in order to create a warm, dark feel. Luckily when we ordered the floor the was a discount so this made it more acceptable. The quality was fairly good, but while laying the planks I found some were warped and so couldn't be used. Also, despite the "click" assembly system, I found it necessary to knock some into place using a special tool because they would not connect fully. It appears these boards were not machined perfectly accurately. The oak is a hard wood to cut so I found the circular saw very handy - a hand saw is really hard work. I used the B and Q wood fibre underlay to help reduce noise when walking on the floor and this is a success.

Quick, easy and looks amazing.

Top quality, very easy to fit. Hardly any waste. Would definitely use again. :-)

Not that happy

Floor looks great down.but lots of faults on the edges and some boards were slightly different sizes so joints look odd? It does give character ,only time will tell .it was to late to return product as the joiner had already fitted it and you can not check boards on purchase as the instructions tell you not to unpack before time of installation .

Disappointed quality

I purchased 10 of these packs and when I checked the first 5 packs there were faults all along the bevelled edge of the planks as if they had been tied up with plastic ties which left splinters and digs along the edges. Does not appear to be any quality control on this product. Have emailed complaint to Manager I shall be sending the whole lot back to the store forthwith
